A Cardiology Consultation is typically requested by your family doctor, internist, or another specialist or surgeon when he or she wishes to have the heart specialist at South Strand Cardiology use their expertise to evaluate your heart.
Having multiple risk factors, such as high blood pressure or cholesterol levels, diabetes, smoking, and more increases your chances of developing heart diseases. To give you the best chance for optimal health outcomes it is advised to seek a cardiac consultation with South Strand Cardiology experts. During this assessment, they will evaluate past medical history along with performing thorough physical examinations and tests to accurately assess future risks associated with cardiovascular conditions. Early diagnosis provides an opportunity for improved prognosis while minimizing potential complications that may arise in time without preventive action taken today.
We understand the importance of preventive care and education, which is why we are dedicated to helping you address your cardiovascular health. During an appointment with your cardiologist, expect questions pertaining to both general well-being as well as any individual reasons for visiting our office. As needed, additional tests may be recommended before providing medication or suggestions back to your primary doctor as necessary. Through this collaborative effort between yourself and doctors at all levels of healthcare – no cardiac concern will go unchecked in striving towards better wellness outcomes long term.
Upon completion of any tests that may have been requested, follow-up visits can be scheduled to evaluate your test results in relation to the symptoms you may be experiencing. If all of the required reports from your previous physicians are brought with you, no additional testing is needed and a treatment plan will be discussed thoroughly along with next steps for monitoring your health.
Patients with these symptoms or conditions may benefit from a Cardiology Consultation
A Cardiology Consultation appointment may take up to an hour or more. Please try to arrive early, approximately 10 minutes or more before your scheduled time, as there are a few forms we will need you to complete prior to your appointment. You may print these forms from our website to complete and bring with you. We make every attempt to stay on a timely schedule.
Please remember to bring your insurance card, your identification card, and a list of any medications or supplements you are currently taking. We need to know about all the medicines, vitamins, and supplements (whether prescribed or over-the-counter) as studies have found that some health-related problems can result from side effects, medications not being used as prescribed, or from interactions that can occur from certain combinations of medicines and supplements.
Following your appointment, information regarding your visit, including lab reports and office notes, can be obtained through the South Strand Cardiology Patient Portal. The portal also allows for payments to be submitted online, and it is designed to provide you with 24/7 access to your health information maintained by our practice. We aim to keep your information updated in a timely manner, however, results from certain tests may take several days to receive and input into your portal records.
